Description
Maraging steels are famous for their high strength and hardness, while retaining an irreproachable ductility.
They have a higher yield strength, allowing them to bend more than standard blades. The blades can therefore, in theory, bend further than others before irreversible deformation of the metal occurs and before they break. But yes, a maraging blade can break. Whilst maraging steel is designed to be hard and durable, it is not indestructible; breakage usually results from bending in the opposite direction to the curve or from an incorrectly performed blade straightening procedure.
